CAPABILITIES
The EZ-436 chassis has remain virtually unchanged since the original incarnation of Death Stinger.  With a ground speed of 180 KPH it is considered to be a lumbering machine compared to many current era units, but in its capacity as a heavy artillery platform it is quite effective on land.  Converted to submarine mode it maintains a respectable 25 knots with adequate maneuverability.  Despite its size, Tyrann Stinger is engineered to be a lethal infighter with excellent agility and an impressive array of weapons and armor.  As it has become a command unit of choice for higher officers with adept piloting skills, the communication suite has been enhanced in the last three years.  Additionally, new targeting hardware and software has been included to direct its enhanced weapon suite, now covering 360º arcs rather than focused directly forward and rearward.
DEFENSES
The primary defense system of the EZ-436 is the most obvious; more than 50 tons of dense composite armorplate.  The Tyrann Stinger is as capable as its predicessor at deflecting and enduring incoming projectiles and warheads.  The secondary system is the integrated e-sheild generator that encapsulates the Zoid in a sphere of energy and slides 100% of laser and median power weapons away, shrugs off smaller caliber projectiles, and can even deter the mighty charged particle beams from scoring a direct hit.
ARMAMENT
The original arms carried by the EZ-036 Death Stinger have been replaced with more modern systems.  In addition, the EZ-436 Tyrann Stinger carries heavy conventional weapons and defensive batteries.  Also, the firing arcs have been greatly accentuated; no longer limited to the fore and aft arcs of its predicessor.  The danger of the new Stinger is multifold.

Graviton Mortar (x2) – Dorsal mounted, forward arc, fixed
The enormous cannons mounted on the Tyrann Stinger condense graviton particles and surge them up to 4 kilometers away.  The graviton bolt reacts to any dense matter in its path, causing an instability that sends the gravitons spraying in all direciont.  The effect on the target is terrifying; it literally flies apart as each piece is forced to fall toward a different micro singularity.  Worse, it takes a hell of a toll if fired through a herd of light units.

180mm Charged Particle Cannon – Tail mounted, horizontal arc via 180º elevation, 90º lateral arc
The original and still most effective weapon of its type, the Tyrann Stinger's CPC can fire repeatedly, and the tail affords it the ability to target a far wider arc of 90º.  The CPC takes tremendous energy to use for any length of time and is limited to a range of only 5 kilometers, but it is a terrifying weapon.

70mm Particle Bolt Rifle (x2) – Rear nacelle mounted, forward arc, 180º rotation
Mounted on the rear claw housing,  these guns gives the Tyrann Stingtinger 360º of armor piercing firepower  Using a compressed particle stream that is super accelerated, a shot from the PBR will rip through a Gojulas' armor at 6 kilometers with 85% accuracy.  The one disadvantage to these guns is the slow rate of fire; they require a full 30 seconds to cool and recharge between shots.  An eternity on the battlefield, but the Stinger has other weapons.

50mm Linear Pulse Cannon (x2) – Tail mounted, horizontal arc via 180º elevation, 40º lateral arc
Mounted in armored pods on the tail, adjascent to the CPC, the linear pulse cannons are designed to be as effective at defense as offense.  As a linear cannon the weapon is suiteable for attacking even heavy targets.  In pulse mode the beam is released as a stream of weaker bursts; damage per beam is far less, but accuracy is much greater.  This mode is suitable for striking faster, lighter foes, or to target incoming projectiles at a range of up to 4 kilometers.

30mm Linear Pulse Cannon (x2) – Tail mounted, horizontal arc via 180º elevation, 40º lateral arc
Identical architecture to the 50mm cannons, the smaller guns have a faster rate of fire in both modes, giving the Tyrann Stinger a horriffic spread of firepower.  Range is limited to 3 kilometers but the cannons can fire almost without ceasing.

35mm Rapid Fire Defense Battery (x2) – Back mounted, 40º elevation, 180º lateral arc
Each of these twin-barrel guns is mounted atop a magazine of 2,000 round magazine that it can chew through at a rate of 20 pounds per second.  These guns are turned on lighter targets as a secondary measure, or to defeat e-shield protected units.

50mm Hardlight Burst Cannon (x6) – Head & claw mounted, forward arc, fixed
Installed to augment the projectile firepower of the EZ-436, each cannon looses a burst of 12 shots in a half a second.  Each magazine holds 40 bursts of hypervelocity APEX rounds that can tear up to 100 targets apart at up to 10 kilometers.

Hyper Alloy Claws (x4) – Arm mounted, forward arc, integrated construction
The claws of the Tyrann Stinger are solid, crushing and cutting nightmares.  The forward claws can smash smaller Zoids effortlessly and grind even huge machines to twisted wrecks in moments.  The rear claws are much smaller but can slice through armor and dismember enemies in short order.

Hyper Alloy Mandibles – Head mounted, forward arc, integrated construction
The bite of the ZE-436 Tyrann Stinger can scissor through most hardened armor, should an enemy get close enough.  Combined with the Hyper Alloy claws, melee combat will usually end with mauled enemies in tatters.

Hyper Alloy Breaker Blades (x2) – Head mounted, forward arc, integrated construction, 160º arc
Extending the Stinger's close-in fighting capabilities, the claw mounted Breaker Blades have been retained.  These weapons lance out to slash through enemies to either side and cut many foes down to size.

Hypercharged Alloy Tail Blades (x2) – Tail mounted, forward-to-rear arc via 180º elevation
The blades mounted on the Tyrann Stinger's tail are comprised of the same alloy as the claws, but they use the CPC armer system to charge them prior to every strike.  With the momentum of the huge tail, the charged blades rip through enemies like tin foil..
SUMMARY
An exceptionally stable chassis, inordinantly heavy armor, greatly improved weaponry, and the boon of historic menace are all on the side of the mighty EZ-436 Tyrann Stinger.  These factor to balance the lack of AI-2 and the high degree of expertise required by a masterful pilot to use the machine effectively.  When any commander sees a Tyrann Stinger take the field against his forces he cannot help but feel the sickening icy grip of fear in his guts.  In all, the EZ-436 production model is a terrifying monument to Zenevas' expertise in effective warfare.
AI-2 PROFILE
A story unique in the modern front line Zoids, Tyrann Stingers lack a full AI-2 computer system due to a deeply rooted bias.  As engineers began work on the AI-2 controller program Imperial Command simply could not shake the vision of the EZ-436 destabilizing and running rampant.  In this the Tyrann Stinger is more primative and less effective than it could be in battle; it would greatly benefit from AI-2 with its heavy compliment of weapons under the command of a single pilot.
HISTORY
The failure of the EZ-036 Death Stinger is well documented, but the platform itself was sound, and simply too efficient to ignore. Emperor Muroa Zenevas commanded the Stinger design to be retooled for modern warfare, and a simpler controller computer system to be engineered to prevent any possibility of the relapse that caused the berzerker rage forcing the destruction of the previous incarnation.  The solution that led to a successful prototype run was surprising; a minor reprogramming and installation of the controller computer from a E24-1 Deathpion.  With the platform and controller ready, the Empire could begin production of the first EZ-436 designated Tyrann Stinger to distinguish it from its failed predicessor.
